September is a crazy month! As we getting ready to celebrate fall, many magazines display photos of the last New York fashion week – during which major spring 2013 collections were presented. One would almost lose the notion of seasons (living in Florida, I lost it a while ago anyway…)!
The great news for 2013 is: the large and official return of an accessory we all love – the scarf. It is the true star of 2013! Most designers have decided to give it a key role in their new ready-to-wear collections.
Special bow to Marc Jacobs… What a creative and gifted guy! His Marc by Marc Jacobs 2013 collection is incredibly stunning: fun, effortlessly cool and delightfully rebellious, it pleases the eye.
1…2…3…. scarf!
OK… We may not all be ready to wear these multicolored prints and multilayered outfits – primarily dedicated to young fashionistas. Nonetheless let’s wave to this very inspirational line!
The Marc by Marc Jacobs collection is a vibrant ode to the scarf. Not a single model who doesn’t wear one – when not several at the same time. What a fresh and fun way to revisit the scarf! Marc Jacobs has a special talent to successfully mix patterns and colors. Whether tied around models’ heads in a sort of turban, coiled in a thick layer at the neck, or wrapped around the waist, his multicolor scarves bring a touch of fun to the perfectly tailored skirts, dresses and pants he has created. The result is a lovely hip collection.

To tell you the truth, I don’t think I could wear Marc Jacobs’s outfits (I am not twenty anymore :-( and I belong to the more classic scarf “school” as you can tell from my Playing With Scarves CD). Yet, I definitely think all women who love scarves will find inspiration in this great line. And I will personally remember Marc Jacobs each time I am wearing a turban or a scarf above a skirt or a pant.
