  1. What a great post! I loved the Kiraz 70cm scarf recently issued by Hermes (but behaved myself and didn’t buy it). These illustrations are lovely and fun! Thank you so much for joining us for ‘How I Wear My: Date Night Look.’ Your look was one of my favorites! XO, Jill

    • Than you dear Jill. It was fun working on such a post! Kiraz’ portraits of “Les Parisiennes” are irresistible. Many years ago when the first one were published, it sounded like revolutionary and it raised the roof…
Thanks also for giving me the opportunity to join your fun date party! To me dating implies a litle mischievousness……..~xoxo

    • You love Paris so much that you deserve to go back there very soon, Ingrid!
Once in Paris, please remember to share photos of you playing The Parisian with a scarf in every situation… Farewell dear ;-)

    • Thanks Annette. A scarf around a handbag is truly Parisian so that would be a very good option. If you visit certain areas of Paris (like the 16th arrondissement) you will find out that most women wear a scarf around their handbag.
      Cheers!

    • Kiraz is very famous in France. His illustrations of “Les Parisiennes” are always fun and sharp. So are his captions. Kiraz knows better than anyone else how to portrait French women in paradoxical situations…
      Have a great day, Heather!

  2. What a fun post. wonderful illustrations, I always have a scarf with me where ever I go in France, never know when I’m going to need it. I often tie one around the handle of my bag just in case .

  3. Hello, lovely Anne ! Thank you so much for referring to me in your post ; I never tire of those “Parisiennes”. I wish we actually all looked like that over here ! Amitiés de Paris. xo

    • Hello dear Silver Bunny :-)
Thank YOU for inspiring me this post. About the look of these women? Scarf for sure… anorexic like all Kiraz’ Parisian women ? Not sure it’s the best option!
      Amitiés de Floride :-)

  4. Hello
I’m a new reader to your wonderful blog (discovered via Everything Just So) and stunned at how you wore the twilly – very inspiring – I’ve been thinking where else I can tie MY twilly :-) I should visit Paris much more often having family there but must be content with wearing my very modest collection of H scarves and accessories to feel close to her! Bonne journée!

    • Hello Silkpathdiary,
Thank you for your kind words :-) Sharing scarf styling and tying tips has always been a true passion. So I am definitely happy if you find some ideas inspirational.
Enjoy your collection of H scarves and accessories! It’s a great way to feel closer to your family – and to wear a small piece of Paris. Like you, these are feelings I know very well.
Bonne journée aussi et à bientôt!

  5. I have the chance to live in Paris and I can confirm that the true Parisian Ladies always wear a silk scarf. These days the weather is too cold and they switch from silk to wool but be sure that once the spring will come they will re-open their drawers and pick-up some of their silky accessories. A true girl from Paris will never go out without her scarf…. Best Regards from France and a great thanks to Anne.

    • Bonjour la France !
Always a pleasure to read your comments :-) I am sure that the true Parisian Ladies cannot wait for spring to be here so that they canplay again with their beloved twillies. Though actually many of them wear silk scarves in the winter too: silk keeps the neck warm better than wool sometimes. And it’s so much more sensuous and elegant… Bonne journée à vous et à bientôt !

  6. Shame on me, I never wore scarf when bathing. So much time spent in vain.

Anne, I’d like to ask you – how your scarf held to your head? When I wear scarf as a headdress, it always slide and glide from my hair, I need to pi it to hair or retie it every half-hour. Is there any secret about how to keep it in perfect and immaculate order? Or all I need is a glue?

    • Hello Pièce du Jour :-) Thank you for your comment. Don’t feel ashame: a scarf in a bath is not a thing every woman will do…
About keeping your headscarf in place, I am not sure the glue option is a good one :-) For headscarves I recommend you start placing the scarf low on the forehead, then tie it tight and finally pull it slightly back. Also, if you have long hair, a poneytail or a chignon will create volume and will help to maintain the scarf.
      Good luck !

  7. Wearing a scarf is NOT an option, if you are French. It simply IS. I suggest every woman make love wearing only a fabulous foulard at least once in her life. I highly recommend it.

  8. I confirm… making love with silk scarves is the most sensual experience you could ever have… silky kisses form Paris, France.

    • Thank you OttomanDandy :-) As a matter of fact many women love to see men wearing a silk scarf as well! As you and I know, elegance is not / should never be the privilege of women and only women.
      All the best
