Are you tired of wearing your silk scarves? I am not… Not sure I’ll ever be…. Yet I have to say that some scarves have such a gorgeous design that sometimes I look at them as possible home decor.
Here are three suggestions to turn your scarves into fabulous home ornaments
. Frame your scarves for a unique wall decoration…
. Make cushions with your scarves. Sleep tight and have a sweet and soft night!
. Create unique curtains…
Are you ready to use your scarves for home decoration? Frame? Cushions? Or curtains? Can’t wait to hear from you.

I have always thought that a beautiful scarf is pure art, suitable for framing. However, I prefer to have it frame me.

“I prefer to have my scarf frame me”: How funny! Thanks for the good chuckle you gave me, dear M-T
I feel the same. Yet wouldn’t it be fun if we could change the scarf/ scarves in the frame(s) once in a while? Instead of keeping our scarves in a drawer or a closet, we would use the ones we are not wearing to have a new touch of color in a room. That’s an idea home stylists should work on… ~xoxo
Une idéé lumineuse, ma chère Anne. J’en suis entièrement d’accord.
Bzzzzz, M-T
Je vais me reconvertir dans le home styling…
Very lovely. I would never have thought of doing this. Will keep all my old scarves in case I get inspired.
Would you try the frames, the cushions or the curtains, Josephine? The good point with frames is that you don’t damage your scarves. With cushions and curtains, it’s a forever option …
ohh, loved this tip!!
Thanks Ingrid
Such a beautiful idea but I like to wear my scarves.
And you wear your scarves beautifully, Laura! So it would be sad not to enjoy them! ~xoxo
I agree!
xx
I,Ove the framed Hermes scarves! I would totally do that if I had a collection and a big wall.
This photo is the photo of a giant loft in NYC… Like you, Heather,I’d do it if… In the meanwhile it will probably be one single framed scarf in a more regular sized room!
I’ve used scarves as coverings on tables and decorative trunks for years. Love the window treatments you posted. Esp that first pic.
Thank you for suggesting the idea of using scarves as decorative coverings, Pam. That’s an interesting a fourth option
Somehow I missed this post when it first came out….I love all the ideas and pictures…You just gave me so many fresh ideas for my home. THANKS!!
Thank you Pam
Frames? Cushions? Curtains? I hope to see photos of your home with scarves everywhere!
xo
I love some of these ideas…tres chic! However, I would want to decorate with Hermes scarves and I am afraid I can’t afford to both decorate my walls and myself with them. : )
I think priority #1 is to be happy with one’s scarves. So choose what pleases you the most, Heather:-)
I adore these home decor ideas, I would love to make a pillow bu I wonder how you would clean it? I wold be soo careful…I might just wear them and worry about spilling wine instead
Thank you for visiting my blog, Naomi
I have seen pillows made with silk fabric (Pottery Barn?) that were sold with cleaning instructions. The pillow had a zip so that the silk cover could be removed and cleaned separately. It would probably have to be the same here.
