      Bien amicalement

  2. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!!! Every time I come here, I’m drooling over all the scarves & how amazing they look. I tried the turban look….not good. I looked horrible. :(
    But you look so classy!
Can’t wait to hear about your project!
    Happy New Year!

    • Happy New Year too Jeannie,
You should try the turban again. Actually there are many ways to do a turban and each way can lead to a different result. I am sure there is one turban style for you – with your hair pulled up probably.
      Good luck :-)

  3. LOVE THIS POST! and cannot wait to hear about your exciting project! I love wearing scarves like headbands and am so glad to see that look on the runway!! It is great for summer around here in South Texas! Love your picture with the sunglasses!

    • Hi Pam,
I am glad you enjoyed this post. As you love scarves as headbands, you are going to be really happy this year!
Have you noticed how different a turban can look depending on the scarf fabric (silk for Dolce Gabanna, cotton for Marc by Marc Jacobs) or on the way the scarf is folded or tied (large, narrow band; worn behind the ears or covering the ears). So many options; all fun!
      xo

  4. What an exciting romp through all your beautiful pictures, Anne! I can hardly wait to hear about your project and for spring to be here. (Although, I have to admit, winter never really comes to San Diego!) Loved the picture of you! You are so beautiful!

    • Thank you so much dear Susan :-)
I certainly do not deserve all these compliments… though they are always good to hear!
Can’t wait to share more with you and with our scarf addicted friends more about my scarf project.
Sending you some warm hugs + snow from Florida – where we know what winter means. LOL.
      Anne

  5. I love the way Dolce and Gabanna have styled them with the chignons. So chic!! I will need to grow my hair a little longer.
You look extremely chic yourself darling. I’m anxious to hear your news!! It is indeed the year of the scarf and you are the lady to show us how.
    All the best,
    Jennifer

  6. Oh ma chère, I am completely at a loss for words, which is most unusual for me. What a glorious post!!! I am salivating over these gorgeous scarves, and you are so stunning and elegant in yours. Did you know that Frenchwomen began wearing their scarves as turbans and head wraps during the War because shampoo, along with other necessities, was so scarce? What a wonderful way to look très chic when your hair is not as clean as you would like.

Malheureusement, Santa was a bit parsimonious with me this Christmas au sujet des foulards, but I already have a very nice collection, donc je ne me plains pas.

Je t’enverrai un p’tit mot hors blog.

    Big bisous, M-T

    • M-T, you at a loss for words? You are right: this is unusual from you… LOL.
Your comment about French women wearing scarves during the war is so interesting. Actually I have several photos of my Mom in her teens during WWII. On many of them she wears a turban or a hat (along with fake stockings – just brown paint on the legs; not really efficient to fight the cold weather…).
My Mom used to tell me that women had to be very creative during WWII to compensate the lack of everything. Another thing she would tell me is that, no matter what, French women would do their best to remain elegant even in the darker period of the war.
How I miss my Mom……………. Thank you for bringing up many memories to my mind.
Also, I am sending on your behalf a complain to Santa. Hope you don’t mind. Santa CANNOT be parcimonious about scarves as we never have enough of them!
A bientôt hors blog. Gros bisous itou ;-)

  7. Fabulous review of scarves with so many ideas. Looks like a year of turbans/headwraps, so that makes me happy. Will be waiting to hear your news as you keep us on the edge of our seats.

    • LOL. Don’t fall from your seat Judith ;-) ;-) This year of hat-scarves / scarf-hats is made for us!
I will certainly keep you – and all the scarf lovers who follow me (thank you all) – posted regarding my scarf projects.
      xo

  8. Looks like you said, 2013 is indeed the “year of the scarf.” Although scarves are forever, fashionistas seem to be looking to accessorize with the scarf more and more! Infinite possibilities, and scarves are truly wardrobe stretchers in times when we are watching our savings more closely. This Blog is a feast “pour les yeux!” Thank you!

    • Thank you Janice for your kind comment.
I have the feeling this is just the beginning of a new scarf era like – there was in the 50′s. Let’s live fifty more years at least and see what happens;-)
      xoxo

  9. Bonne Année, Anne! Can’t wait to find out about your exciting 2013 project. I’m all for The Year of the Scarf but then you know how I love scarves and what an amazing selection you have shown here. I especially like those shades of the desert ones – lovely colour combinations together with minimalist prints – very different.

    • Bonne Année miss b! Wishing you success and happiness – and many more wonderful trips :-)
I can picture you with one of these minimalist “desert style” scarves while exploring the Sahara…. The exact scarf you need!
      xoxo

  10. A head wrap, bold drop earrings and shades are year round for me. Mostly on my days off. Your blog is so inspiring. And I bought a new scarf today. Sigh. I swear it’s an addiction!
